Job Summary
Medical School Facilities is seeking a Data Coordinator to be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the space information M-Pathways database management system to ensure its accessibility, reliability, and performance. The role includes periodic auditing and swift adaptation to varying university, school, department, and user needs, compiling and verifying the integrity of data, and facilitating training and support to internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service and technical skills and the ability to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate must be able to work independently and as a critical member of a team. This position will service customers across the Medical School located in nearly 4 million square feet of space.

Responsibilities*
Maintain accurate records of physical space characteristics for all Medical School space located at the Medical Center, the North Campus Research Complex, and various offsite locations, amounting to approximately 4.0 million gross sqft.
Verify current state information by conducting field surveys, liaising with occupants for room use data, and by leveraging workflow processes to manage changes to space type and use.
Input and validate data into M-Pathways space database, ensuring data authenticity and auditing for consistency and compliance with administrative guidelines and business rules.
Execute the annual university-wide Space Survey adhering to campus regulations and organize coordination with various Medical School units for seamless information sharing.
Develop and support web-based reporting and manage updates to informational websites.
Train and assist department space coordinators and others as necessary in database use, space data management, and the adoption of good data practices, and maintain data governance.
Present and assemble space data reports addressing management needs and lead internal focus groups.
Design, implement, and maintain moderately complex databases with attention to end-user requirements, database dictionaries, and systems integration.
Support space planners by managing day to day space requests and small projects as determined.
Participates or leads special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Facility Management, Business, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent years experience in relevant field.
1-3 years of professional experience
Considerable knowledge of Google Suites or Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and independent work skills.
Strong service orientation, meticulous attention to detail.
Willingness to undergo physical tasks such as walking for surveys.
Hybrid work opportunity with some onsite work required.
Desired Qualifications*
At least two years of experience in database query and reporting tools like Business Objects or Tableau.
Familiarity with facility management and space planning database software.
Familiarity with GIS systems for facility planning.
Experience with SQL queries and/or R scripts.
Experience creating Excel Power Queries or using Excel M Language
Ability to interpret basic building floor plans.
Demonstrated presentation and training capabilities.
