Summary

A Staff Scientist position is available in the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Baylor College of Medicine. Research in the Department focuses on primary care and community engaged research, substance use disorders, antibiotics stewardship and cancer prevention. The Staff Scientist will be involved in conducting independent and collaborative research, developing critical documentation for compliance with regulations, and providing technical oversight and support under the general direction of the Principal Investigator. We are seeking highly motivated individuals with a Doctoral Degree and demonstrated competence and experience and publications innationally and internationally recognized journals. Research experience in primary care research is required.

Job Duties

  • Design, lead, and conduct primary care research.
  • Support program evaluation work and contribute to regular reports.
  • Analyze and interpret data.
  • Create and apply research methodologies specific to individual projects.
  • Conduct literature reviews and summarizing findings in a relevant format for studies.
  • Record experimental results and report them to the Principal Investigator.
  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate tasks for junior research staff.
  • Performother job related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral Degree. Experience may not be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Three years of post doctoral research experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with primary care research as well as primary care research fellowship are highly preferred
