Dartmouth’s inaugural executive director of the Dartmouth Center for Career Design (DCCD) will reimagine and transform undergraduate career planning and services using a design thinking-inspired approach. As a result of the executive director’s leadership and more than $50 million in planned philanthropic investment directed by President Beilock, the Dartmouth Center for Career Design will be considered both pioneering and best-in-category within the next five years.

This position currently oversees a talented staff of 13 professionals and has the exceptional opportunity of expanding the staff to 25. Additionally, the executive director manages an operating budget of $4.4 million.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in educational and/or career and life-design and/or executive leadership with mission-oriented public service experience and five years of supervisory experience. The new executive director will have experience leading career services or equivalent initiatives, experience working with diverse populations and new entrants to the workforce, and leading cultures of change in outcome-based environments. A proven track record of using design-thinking models to develop innovations and implement successful institutional and cultural change, demonstrated experience building programs of impact, understanding relevant federal and state regulations, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion are all required. Further, the executive director must be able to lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals and be flexible to adapt to changing organizational needs.
