Position Description

The Therapeutic Discovery Center is seeking a dynamic Project Manager for Translational Research Programs with scientific background, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for applying science toward the therapies of tomorrow.  The Project Manager will report to the Senior Project Manager, Translational Research Programs, and will serve as a key member of the Therapeutic Discovery Center.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead operations of designated projects, including
  • Define deliverables and timelines at each project stage
  • Track progress against deliverables and timeline
  • Monitor expenses against project budget
  • Communicate effectively with scientific researchers
  • Design scopes of work in collaboration with senior project manager and execute contracts with contract research organizations (CROs), technical consultants, and other service providers as appropriate.
  • Draft scientific deliverables such as synthesis of chemical analogs
  • Monitor work completed by CROs, consultants, and other service providers
  • Coordinate communication between key stakeholders, including PIs and co-PIs, contracted vendors, other team members, and applicable University offices
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in the life sciences or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills
  • Master's degree in the life sciences or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in positions involving project management, alliance management, scientific/technical evaluation, in an industrial and/or academic setting preferred.
  • Background knowledge in chemistry and biology
  • Strong competencies in project management, outsourcing, resource management and organization with the ability to coordinate multiple activities and resources, while maintaining a focus on quality.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Strong Emotional Intelligence (EQ).
  • Enjoys working in an open academic environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to produce and present clear, concise, and professionally written communications and presentations.
Additional Information
This is a term appointment, with an end date of September 30, 2027, with the possibility of renewal contingent on funding.
