Position Summary:

The College of Business and Economic Development at Arkansas Tech University has a faculty opening for a full-time, tenure-track position to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in marketing, including digital and social media marketing, retailing, and marketing research with a starting date of August 2025. The School of Business is accredited by AACSB-International and offers bachelor's degrees with majors in Accounting, Business Data Analytics, Finance, Management, Health Information Management, and Digital Marketing, as well as offering an MBA program and a Master of Science in Health Informatics. Arkansas Tech offers an attractive fringe benefit package including medical, dental, and life insurance and participation in TIAA-CREF retirement plans. The typical full-time course load is 21 credit hours/academic year (4:3 or 3:4 load).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Business, both on campus and in virtual modalities.

Effectively advise students.

Engage students in high impact learning practices on campus, off campus, and in virtual modalities.

Conduct scholarly research consistent with AACSB guidelines and School of Business policy.

Provide impactful departmental, college, university, and professional service to the university, community and state, both on campus and through other avenues.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge - understanding of academic discipline and teaching pedagogy, using a wide range of software and applied techniques related to marketing, including all aspects of digital marketing;

Skills - organization, leadership, communication;

Abilities - responsive, collegial

Minimum Requirements:

PhD or doctorate in Marketing or a closely related business field from a regionally accredited institution. Students who are ABD by August 2025 are also welcome to apply.

Ability to develop a sustainable research program that could incorporate undergraduate students.

Excellent oral & written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Marketing from an AACSB-accredited institution.

Evidence of teaching excellence at the university level and commitment to continuous improvement in teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduate and graduate students.

Demonstrated abilities in marketing, particularly all aspects of digital marketing such as social media marketing, marketing analytics, and retailing (both traditional and virtual).

Experience with online instruction.

Record of scholarly activity and strong research interests in marketing and/or evidence of recent consulting relating to marketing.

Ability to seek external funding.

Commitment to creating and fostering industry relationships.

Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:

The location of this position is on the Russellville Campus of ATU, with an office located in Rothwell Hall. This position will teach in both online and traditional modalities on a regular basis and will interact with students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders in a variety of campus and online settings.
