Job Posting Title:

Food Access Coordinator (Hourly)

Job Description Summary:

Coordinates and assists with planning, developing, communicating, and administering food access and related programs and activities. Primarily responsible for supporting the operations of food distributions on ACC campuses. Promotes events, recruits, trains and communicates clearly with volunteers and staff under the guidance of Social Support Resource Development (SSRD) full-time staff. Helps coordinate related opportunities to increase access to nutritious, high-quality groceries and food. Collects and manages data through confidential and careful record-keeping in collaboration with ACC and community partner staff. When not on campuses for food access-related activities, coordinators work remotely in close collaboration with the SSRD leadership team and other departments.

Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

  • Coordinates one or more specialized projects or programs within a department or office.

  • Plans, organizes, coordinates, and facilitates departmental projects.

  • Serves as communication liaison.

  • Works collaboratively with internal departments of the college.

  • Gathers and compiles data for reports.

  • Maintains and updates database information.

  • May research, evaluate, and make recommendations related to projects & programs.

  • Maintains and updates websites and schedules.

Knowledge

  • Knowledge related to the purpose and/or content of the program and/or project.

  • Knowledge of planning and coordinating related projects and/or programs.

Skills

  • Maintaining an established work schedule, including some evenings and weekends.

  • Working collaboratively and effectively using interpersonal and communication skills, including tact and diplomacy.

  • Effectively using organizational and planning skills with attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Maintaining confidentiality of work-related information and materials.

  • Prioritizing, implementing, and managing multiple projects and due dates.

  • Effectively working with diverse and multicultural communities and individuals.

  • Computer, web and database maintenance skills.

Technology Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency using standard office software applications.

Required Work Experience

  • Two years related work experience.

Required Education

  • ACC student working toward credential preferred

Special Requirements

  • Reliable transportation for travel in the Austin area as required.

Other Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual/multilingual communication skills (conversational and written).

  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience and abilities.

  • Ability to work autonomously and in collaboration.

  • Experience assessing, developing, and maintaining website and promotional content.

  • Efficiency in preparing narrative and statistical reports and maintaining detailed records.

Physical Requirements

  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.

  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
