The School of Education (SoE) faculty is comprised of educator-scholars whose expertise spans diverse learning contexts and populations. Innovative instruction, diversity/equity/inclusion, technology-enhanced learning, distance education, service learning, professional development school partnerships, and rigorous research are embodied in all of our programs. Position Summary
The School of Education Data and Reporting Specialist is responsible for managing, compiling, and analyzing data related to SOE programs. This role supports compliance with federal and state reporting mandates and contributes to continuous improvement efforts by providing accurate and timely data to stakeholders. The specialist will work closely with the SOE’s administration, faculty, and college IT team to ensure the integrity of data systems and the successful completion of all required reports. Additionally, the role will involve analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to support decision-making processes and enhance educational programs, research initiatives, and institutional effectiveness.
The SOE Data and Reporting Specialist will oversee the data management processes and reporting requirements associated with SOE programs. This includes managing databases, coordinating data collection, ensuring compliance with reporting deadlines, and developing strategies for data-driven decision-making. The role demands a high level of attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
Required Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field.
Experience in data management and reporting, preferably in an educational setting.
Demonstrated proficiency in using data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, R, Python, SPSS, SAS, Tableau, Power BI, similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability to organize and compile data from multiple/disparate data sources
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Job Qualifications
A Master’s degree
Knowledge of how data intersects with diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and access
Experience with federal and state reporting requirements, particularly those related to SOE programs.
Experience working with institutional research data and educational software applications (e.g., Student Tracker, Report Wizard).
Experience with relational database and SQL coding.
Familiarity with the PRAXIS examination and other licensure requirements.
Knowledge of FERPA regulations and data privacy standards.
Enthusiastic about using data to drive improvements in educational outcomes and institutional performance.
