Job Description

Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management

Lead and manage the out-of-state recruitment team, providing direction, support, and motivation to ensure effective team performance and achievement of recruitment goals.
Develop and implement team strategies and action plans to enhance out-of-state recruitment efforts and address challenges.
Foster a collaborative team environment by encouraging open communication, team cohesion, and professional development.
Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to build rapport and trust, monitor team performance, and provide feedback.
Engage with and support the Recruitment Team, Admissions Office, and Systemwide Recruitment Collaborative to advance the organizational and university mission and vision.
Facilitate team meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to build team skills and knowledge (e.g., Annual Recruitment Training).
Participate in professional development opportunities (e.g., trainings, conferences).
Develop and manage the out-of-state recruitment budget(s), including tracking expenses, approving receipts and transactions, resource allocation, and proposal approvals.
Territory Management

Create a clear vision, identify growth opportunities, set goals, and track progress for the assigned territory.
Build relationships with students, parents, high school counselors and administrators, community members, alumni, and other constituents.
Assist prospective students through the admissions, scholarship, and enrollment process at Utah State University.
Work with high school counselors and administrators to assist students in their college search.
Collaborate with members of the USU community, including faculty, staff, and alumni, to develop programs and initiatives for student recruitment.
Recruitment Event Involvement

Initiate, plan, and facilitate out-of-state territory recruitment events (e.g., district & high School visits, national college fairs (NACAC), national affiliate college fairs, regional college fairs, yield dinners)
Travel to out-of-state recruitment events, approximately two-three trips each fall (e.g., out-of-state open houses).


Responsibilities Dependent on Work Location:



Recruitment Event Involvement

Participate in in-state recruitment events (e.g., next step nights, true blue days, counselor conferences, Utah State University Leadership Conference (USULC)).
Student Ambassador Advising

Participate in the Ambassador Scholarship Program application review and selection process.
Lead, support, and advise student ambassadors in their responsibilities.
Plan, facilitate, and attend ambassador events (e.g., ambassador academy, ambassador retreat, cabinet retreat, rookie retreat).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree plus two years of related experience OR an equivalent combination of experience and education
Valid driver’s license to perform essential job responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:

One year of related experience in university admissions and/or recruitment.
Familiarity with RecruitCRM, Banner, and other university software systems.
Strong customer service orientation, experience, and knowledge with the ability to apply those skills in creating positive relationships with others.
Experience working with various audiences, including prospective students, parents, counselors, alumni, university community members, and other constituents.
Effective presentation and communication skills, especially in presenting a positive message to groups and one-on-one.
