What Your Job Will Be Like:
The Chief of Staff office for Infrastructure Operations is looking for an enthusiastic technical leader to become the Manager of our Facilities and Infrastructure Performance and Assurance Department. The Facilities and Infrastructure Operations department enables high-quality operational outcomes by driving and continually improving processes, performance, and results.
This management role is in the Division Chief of Staff office and reports directly to the Division 4000 Chief of Staff. The Division Chief of Staff Team advances D4K's mission by objectively assessing performance, integrating programs, driving solutions, and promoting a collaborative and efficient division focused on excellence and continuous improvement .
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Establish improved ways for interfacing and coordinating specific deliverables with external sponsors and Sandia Field Office (SFO) Oversight leaders to align plans, seek necessary approvals, and incorporate newly established F&I planning requirements.
- Utilize experience in process based QMS systems, lifecycle of assurance, and risk evaluation and mitigation.
- Design integrated processes and provides centralized resources for risk, requirements, records management, process design, training, audits and assessments, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain trust-based relationships to ensure Division and Laboratories partner needs are met.
- Understand the work of the Division and connect the work and expertise of the organization with potential beneficiaries, collaborators, and customers.
- Develop and implement new and innovative ideas to push our team to creatively provide solutions to fully meet our partner needs.
- Balance the acquisition and development of staff resources, capabilities, and existing and future programs to ensure Sandia’s mission and strategic outcomes are met.
- Maintain and deliver on specific deliverables, overall program and project plans, budgets, structures, schedules, and staffing requirements.
- Apply organization knowledge and experience to independently judge work quality, performance, and alignment of results with expectations.
- Oversee and manage members of the workforce, within the organization, including hiring, professional development, and assessment and performance management, consistent with the mission of the organization.
The selected applicant can work a combination of onsite and offsite work. The selected applicant must live within a reasonable distance for commuting to the assigned work location when necessary.
Salary Range:
$127,900 - $217,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or other relevant field plus eight years of experience in facilities project management, construction management, process management, or risk management.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
• Advanced degree in Engineering, Architecture, or other relevant field.• Previous experience as a corporate risk manager, or process manager.• Two or more years of demonstrated leadership experience. • Broad knowledge of SNL processes, policies and procedures related to procurement, finance, and facilities.• Proven ability to manage annual budgets.• Experience related to Laboratory missions and mission delivery at SNL
About Our Team:
The Facilities and Infrastructure Operations department enables high-quality operational outcomes by driving and continually improving processes, performance, and results. The department designs integrated processes and provides centralized resources for risk, requirements, records management, data analytics, process design, training, measures and metrics, audits and assessments, corrective actions, information technology, and continuous improvement. We are customer-focused, leading both tactical and strategic activities across the Facilities centers. Our foundation is a process-based Quality Management System aligned to DOE requirements, corporate policies, and ISO standards. Responsibilities include the full lifecycle of assurance improvement activities though a Lean Six Sigma and Systems Thinking approach
