Job Profile Summary

Under limited supervision, this position supports the department in the preparation, set up, break down, and clean-up of the dental clinic and laboratories according to the type of clinical or lab activities performed using established procedures and in compliance with all safety regulations. Maintain clinic and laboratory equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

  

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree required or an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.

Minimum Experience/Training:

  • Four years of related experience required.

Minimum Certification/Licenses:

  • (DANB) Certified Dental Assistant Certification, Expanded Functions Certification, and Radiography Certification are preferred but not required.

Essential Functions:

  • Daily - 30%: Responsible for the setup and break down of all instructional clinics and laboratories according to the assigned functional discipline.
  • Daily - 5%: Performs routine maintenance on clinic and lab equipment according to manufacturer schedule to ensure consistent performance.
  • Daily - 30%: Ensures that all sterilization procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as guidelines from OSHA and the CDC and maintains appropriate documentation
  • Daily - 5%: Assists with the handling and disposal of all waste materials according to established safety and regulatory protocols and maintains appropriate documentation.
  • Daily - 5: Ensures all student, faculty, and staff consistently utilize appropriate PPE, such as gloves, masks, and eye protection, to protect and prevent contamination.
  • Each Term - 5%: Provides training to students, faculty, and staff on proper sterilization techniques, infection control, radiation safety, and biohazardous waste protocols and regularly provides updates on any changes in procedures or regulations.
  • Daily - 5% Maintains clinic and lab inventories and orders supplies as needed.
  • Quarterly - 5%: Ensures up-to-date (MSDS) Material Data Safety Sheets are available for all chemical and hazardous materials used in clinics and labs and items are labeled appropriately.
  • Daily - 3%: Ensures clinic emergency medical supplies, signage, and state licenses are up-to-date and in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Biannually - 2%: Oversees the Green Light Program for clinical compliance and ensures documentation is current.
  • Daily - 5%: Performs related duties as assigned.
