Job Summary
The Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action (OEO/AA) is responsible for overseeing the University’s compliance with University Policy and various state and federal regulations related to discrimination and sexual misconduct. The OEO/AA is a resource for students, staff, faculty and other University community members who wish to report and address issues of discrimination and/or sexual misconduct.
The Office of Equal Opportunity & Affirmative Action is seeking applications for a Supportive Measures Manager. Reporting to the Director, the Supportive Measures Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the Office’s responsibilities for Intake, case management, and provision of Supportive Measures using trauma-informed principles related to reports of discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation. This is a supervisory position overseeing Intake and Program Support positions. This position may manage other positions if assigned.
Responsibilities

Essential Functions
1. Develop, supervise, and administer the OEO/AA’s responsibilities for managing intake, case management, and supportive measures, including developing, supervising, and administering internal policies and procedures for these areas.
2. In conjunction with the Director and management team, collaborate on the implementation of the overall organizational vision and mission of OEO/AA including developing a culture of trauma-informed reporting and response.
3. Oversees, supervises, and administers the intake function involving a wide range of incoming discrimination, harassment, and retaliation reports involving students, staff, faculty, patients, visitors, and others. This position is primarily responsible for effectively triaging of reports to ensure an appropriate response and provisioning of supportive measures.
4. Oversees the intake process and provides information for individuals who have experienced discrimination, sexual misconduct, and/or retaliation to inform them of options for supportive measures and options for engaging in formal and informal processes. Oversees the supportive measure process and provides supportive measures for parties.
5. Markets and promotes OEO/AA services to the broader campus community. May oversees and supervises the OEO/AA’s training responsibilities to deliver effective and meaningful education and training on the University’s Nondiscrimination policies, ADA/504, Safety of Minors, and other related policies and procedures. May also oversee the training and education for both group and individual one-on-one trainings.
6. Oversees and supervises the Program Support position(s) for the OEO/AA.
7. Use trauma informed principles and practices to work with parties involved in reports of discrimination, sexual misconduct, and retaliation.
8. Maintain highly sensitive and private information and record in compliance with University and OEO/AA recordkeeping
9. Exercises good judgment and makes effective clear and concise decisions in a timely manner.
10. Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concerns and suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through and implements continuous quality improvement to processes
11. Fosters collaborative and collaborative relationships with other campus offices such as the Office of the Dean of Students, Center for Student Wellness, Housing & Residential Housing, USA Housing, University Counseling Center, Office of Equity and Diversity, Chief Safety Office, University Police Department, Human Resources, Office of Faculty, and resources external to the University. As assigned, represents OEO in University-wide committees to implement improvements and best practices in addressing issues of discrimination, sexual misconduct, retaliation, and other related areas.
12. Ensures competency of staff through the development and/or presentation of educational programs and through on-going staff performance evaluations.
13. Engages in problem solving for difficulty situations. Often selects from a predetermined list of alternatives and sometimes recommends or changes policy and procedure based upon amount of discretion given by department. Problems would be referred to superior based upon predetermined guidelines set by the department.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Four to six years of progressively more responsible management experience. Background knowledge of hiring department’s area of specialization in order to analyze, plan and draw conclusions for recommendations to superiors. Demonstrated leadership skills in planning and directing employees and processes in order to effectively monitor and develop subordinates and to ensure the smooth operation of department. Completion of provided supervisory training within one year of employment may be required. Master’s degree in a related area may be preferred.

Preferences
Preference will be given to those with two or more years of experience working in the areas of civil rights compliance, student conduct, human resources, or a similar field; experience with trauma-informed support services, conducting investigations or supporting individuals who have experienced sexual violence or civil rights issues; advancing compliance with government regulations that pertain to students, faculty and university staff, including Title IX, Clery Act, Title VI, Title VII, Section 504, ADA and other civil rights laws and regulations.

Preference will be given to individuals who are bilingual (fluent in both written and spoken languages) in addition to English.

Preference may be given to those with a Master’s degree in counseling, social work, student affairs, higher education, law or related field.
