Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Administrative Program Specialist position for the Food Science and Technology Department at Oregon State University (OSU).

The Administrative Program Specialist supports the Department of Food Science and Technology (FST) academic programs through coordination and administrative support of the graduate and undergraduate programs.

FST is home to more than 90 undergraduates and over 45 graduate students and this position is central to the success of the students and FST academic programs. The incumbent is the primary point of contact between FST and the Graduate School, Scholarship Office, Registrar and Scheduling Desk, handling daily issues for and with students, programs and faculty. The incumbent supports students though the academic life-cycle and thus must maintain and communicate in-depth knowledge of FST academic programs, requirements, and OSU policies to support students’ successful completion. The incumbent works closely with FST undergraduate academic advisor and undergraduate and graduate committee chairs, is an active participant and supports departmental academic committees, and works as part of the office team in support of the department and department head. The incumbent is responsible for establishing, managing, and coordinating scholarship administration, and collaborates with many OSU and college academic offices to carry out the duties of the position. This position manages ongoing student/alumni record keeping and tracking data for the department.

What We Require
Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience. One year of postsecondary education may be substituted for up to one year of the experience.

This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq.
