The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet patient care needs. This role involves the development and management of staff schedules, processing vacation and holiday requests, covering sick calls, and making adjustments to staffing levels as needed. The Staffing Coordinator will maintain accurate records, ensure timely communication regarding staffing changes, and collaborate with nursing leadership to float staff based on competencies and certifications.

  • Participates in departmental and hospital performance improvement activities.
  • Participates in staff in-service and education of newly implemented processes, spreadsheets and computer systems.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels and ages of staff.Fosters the development of teamwork within the department while meeting the needs of the department being served.
  • Handles telephone calls; exercises judgment as to the urgency or other nature of the calls; directs calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.
  • Utilizes proper judgment in decision-making.
  • Demonstrates a positive a positive image.

Your qualifications should include:

  • High School or equivalent
  • Post high school vocational/specialized training
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements.
  • Three years related experience preferably within a medical and/or research environment
  • Maintain effective and diplomatic working relationships with staff and public.

Additional Information:

  • Day Shift
  • 12 HR Shift
  • 4 Shifts per month
  • As Early as 4:30AM

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $24.18 - $33.86 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
