Job Description
Summary
The researcher will conduct research on a mouse model of brain infection that requires planning, completing, and occasionally supervising limited research projects in accordance with general plans approved by Dr. Corry. The position requires mouse manipulation through IACUC-approved protocols.
Job Duties
- Designs and conducts research experiments.
- Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
- Conducts literature searches and summarizes information in an appropriate format for a particular study.
- Documents and interprets results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
- May develop and modify computer programs.
- Selects and determines appropriate research procedures.
- Oversees the maintenance of lab equipment and environment.
- May assign activities to less experienced research staff.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Specific duties:
- The position requiresthe handling and culturing of mouse brain and other tissues, and the handling and culture of human brain tissue.
- Proficiency with a number of experimental protocols including molecular, immunologic, and histopathologic methods, will also be required, but will be taught.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master\'s degree in basic science or a related field.
