Job Description
Position Summary
The Innovation Learning Laboratory at Morehouse School of Medicine is seeking qualified candidates for our Administrative Assistant III position. The purpose of the Innovation Learning Laboratory for Population Health is to design and implement demonstration projects that generate innovative technology-driven healthcare models and fuel teaching and learning for population health improvement. Located within the Department of Family Medicine, this laboratory serves three purposes: 1. Identify, design, develop, demonstrate and disseminate innovative models of health care improvement. 2. Study and foster population health through patient, community, consumer and provider engagement. 3. Prepare 21st century healthcare leaders/workers – including training for students, community, faculty and providers.
The Innovation Learning Laboratory for Population Health is designed to enhance service, research, teaching and learning to improve abilities of the global health work force, patient care and community and population health outcomes. The laboratory specifically utilizes data/shared data for improvement of local community’s (including residents, community-based organizations, health systems, small practices, urban planners, government entities) capacity to plan, monitor, and evaluate for community/population health improvement. The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Assistant Director and is responsible for ongoing administrative duties for the Innovation learning Laboratory
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university is required.
Experience:
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Microsoft Office proficiency including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Job Duties
Description of Job Duty
Provide administrative support the Innovation Learning Laboratory Director and Staff by performing duties that strengthen the lab and support the needs of staff and programs while assuring compliance standards.
Support the Director of the Innovation Learning Lab, the Assistant Director, and lab staff.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with employees, students, staff, faculty, and vendors based on mutual respect.
Addresses the daily administrative needs and concerns of staff with the Assistant Director.
Link Innovation Lab Staff to needed MSM resources.
Use interpersonal skills with diplomacy to manage conflict with cooperation and collaboration within team settings.
Flexibility to work effectively with multiple supervisors on a variety of projects.
Assist with preparation of site visits, lab meetings, and retreats.
Assists the Assistant Director in preparing the budget documentation; personnel action forms, requisitions, redistribution forms, etc.
Plans and organizes laboratory staff meetings, training sessions, and special events; and maintains the Director’s calendar.
Organizes, plans, and maintains travel itineraries and travel arrangements for the lab faculty and staff.
Works to enhance event planning, scheduling of meetings, and resolving any anticipated inconveniences.
Designs, develops, implements, and maintains automated or manual records management system for the Innovation Lab
Provides logistical support for the Director and Assistant Director, which includes presentation preparation, report generation, and other various assignments.
Prepares and composes reports, correspondence, and other documents as required; reviews for accuracy and completeness; maintains files for future references.
Manages and monitors incoming correspondence (written and electronic), including review, screening, appropriate routing, and disposition; and maintains and updates related files.
Organizes and prioritizes activities ensuring management of and follow through on assigned tasks. Compiles and communicates information and action item.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
Absolute integrity and discretion.
Working effectively with persons from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
