This position serves as a member of the undergraduate recruitment staff with responsibilities for application review, transfer credit evaluation, and audit processes.

Student Services Manager I (CB75/61121972), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary range: $38,985.00 (minimum) - $55,559.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Travel, longer hours during peak season, and weekend work may be required. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.


Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:

Evaluates admissions applications for appropriate decisions under established criteria and guidelines. Conducts the second-level review for undergraduate committee files during peak application season.

Maintains regular personal contact and provides superior customer service to prospective students, applicants, and their parents throughout the admissions process. Advises and counsels prospective students/applicants and their families on admissions criteria and related academic and student life issues through on- and off-campus interviews, telephone communications, and e-mails.

Evaluates transfer credit with a specific focus on dual enrollment credit for first-year students. Processes transfer credit updates upon receipt of final transcripts. Updates equivalencies and ensures accurate awarding of external credit.

Completes a preliminary and final audit and ensures the accuracy of all transfer, second degree, readmit and dual enrollment credit. Manages the first-year final high school transcript verification audit. Place holds on students records as required.

Serves as the primary admissions contact for readmit applicants, in addition to specific non-degree populations and homeschool applicants. Provides ongoing contact with applicants to ensure file completion, acceptance, and matriculation.



Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and at least one year of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree. Experience in higher education programs for adult/non-traditional student populations or academic advising preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Sensitivity to the needs of all prospective students and applicants; the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and counselors; ability to comprehend and explain program and degree requirements; read and analyze admissions documents to review applications; perform detailed work; handle staff and student matters confidentially. Must be a team player and able to multi-task. Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
