The successful candidate:
This is a PRN position.
Department: Inpatient
The Monitor Tech/PCT operates under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse, taking on responsibility and accountability for activities of daily living, specific tests and procedures, environmental responsibilities, and other assigned tasks.
Monitor ECGs, Sao2, CO2 levels, and patient pressures in Inpatient Services.
Organize and supervise nursing desk activities to streamline the nursing process and patient care.
Ensure accurate and timely order entry, along with proper notification and coordination with the multidisciplinary team.
Collect vital signs, intake and output, blood glucose levels, pain assessments, and other patient data as instructed by the licensed nurse.
Maintain clean and organized patient rooms and unit. Ensure the unit, nurse servers, and nutrition room are well-stocked with supplies.
Coordinate and guide unit activities to facilitate information exchange among staff, physicians, departments, patients, and families. Assist patient families by offering general information and guidance, alerting other disciplines to patient or family needs as they emerge.
Minimum Education Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience
Six months prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a health care environment, a second-year nursing student, or six months prior experience in a medical setting.
MUST have a BLS certification, AHA preferred
PCT certification or CNA license desirable.
Training as a Unit Secretary in a hospital or equivalent setting preferred.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $17.00 - $24.15 / hour
The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
