What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist
Facilitates the document control and records management processes for the Realized Product Sub-System (RPSS) procedures. Utilizes systems and process methodologies to optimize the organizations internal processes and lead continuous improvement efforts. Prepare for and participate in audits/assessments of RPSS. Maintain and continuously improve the RPSS Portal.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Establishes, maintains, and improves quality policies, processes, procedures, and tools.
- Assesses processes and systems and conducts risk analysis, root cause analysis, corrective or preventive actions, lessons learned, and benchmarking. Tracks corrective and preventive actions to completion.
- Assists with quality issue management systems and close out of corrective actions in those systems.
- Provides guidance to achieve or retain external certification (e.g. ISO 9001, AS 9100) of the quality management system.
- Assists with preparing for, participating in, and responding to audits/assessments.
- Executes performance assurance processes in compliance with applicable contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinates and communicates feedback to owners of quality processes.
- Contributes to strategic planning activities and facilitates management reviews.
- Ensures operation and continuous improvement of document control and records management processes.
- Lead modernization of document control and records management processes.
- Responsible for operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Realize Product Sub-System (RPSS) Portal.
- Coordinate web development projects with partner organizations to ensure successful outcomes.
Salary Range:
$70,200 - $135,400
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate\'s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor’s degree plus five years of relevant experience. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree must be directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Experienced in the development and implementation of product realization and quality policies, processes, and procedures.
- Experienced in the development and execution of document control and records management processes.
- Expertise in federal, contractual requirements related to ND product realization and quality.
- Expertise with Realize Product Sub-System (RPSS).
- DOE Q clearance or DOD equivalent required to start.
Qualifications We Desire:
- Demonstrated ability to prepare contractual requirements analysis for engineering review.
- Experience with quality audits/assessments of processes and systems.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with web developers to operate and improve web portal for use by ND members of the workforce.
- Experience with Agile software / web development processes.
- Strong writing, communication, facilitation, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team-focused environment, exercise discretion, and maintain confidentiality of information.
About Our Team:
Org. 00523 develops, improves, and governs the weapon lifecycle processes to consistently and responsively enable weapon programs/projects to deliver quality ND products.
This organization manages:
- The Realize Product Subsystem (RPSS) is Sandia’s Weapon Quality Management System (WQMS) and consists of both Realize Product Procedures (RPPs) and Business Management Procedures (BMPs). These procedures provide a structured approach to implementing DOE/NNSA contractual requirements across all ND programs.
- The Nuclear Weapons Requirements Integration Office (NWRIO) directly interfaces with the DOE/NNSA and other sites in the Nuclear Security Enterprise (NSE) to negotiate, analyze, identify impacts, and flow down ND contractual requirements.
- The ND Product Realization Governance Structure is responsible for the flow down of all ND contractual requirements and the implementing procedures (RPSS) so that Sandia provides consistent delivery of ND products with unparalleled reliability, performance, and quality.

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
