Assistant Professor Organic Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry at Coastal Carolina University invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level beginning Fall 2025. The Department of Chemistry is home to approximately 85 undergraduate majors and three degrees: Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Chemistry Education. As a department we focus on our commitment to student success and are seeking a proficient teacher/scholar who is dedicated to undergraduate teaching and can develop a vibrant undergraduate research program. The successful candidate must be able to teach organic chemistry courses, lower-level chemistry classes, and potentially develop upper-level chemistry electives for the biochemistry and chemistry degrees. Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry or closely related fields.
The student experience is a Chemistry Department priority, and your responsibilities will focus on providing a rich academic experience to help facilitate student success. Responsibilities include course development, teaching and advising students, mentoring undergraduate research students, and working with the Department Chair to coordinate Departmental/College/University activities. It also includes publishing research, serving on Departmental, College and University committees and providing services to the community.
