Qualifications:
SPSY 702-01/COUN 772 Instructional Strategies (2 units)
Thursdays 5:30PM - 7:00 PM
An overview of the theories and processes of psychological and educational consultation at the individual and systems level. Students will learn and apply consultation skills within a problem-solving model of service delivery as it relates to academic interventions. More specifically, students will examine the biological, cultural, and social influences on academic skills, explore and evaluate evidence-based curriculum and instructional strategies, and demonstrate skills to use assessment and data-collection methods and to implement and evaluate services that support cognitive and academic skills.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must have M.S., M.A., or Ph.D. in School Psychology and be a credentialed school psychologist in the state of California with a minimum of 3 years experience as a practicing school psychologist. Faculty who teach any PPS specialization course will need to have work in prek-12 school settings in the last three years.
