Overview:
The School of Computing and Engineering at Quinnipiac University prides itself in its excellence in education. Evidence of this excellence can be seen in everything from student success in obtaining high-quality internships and full-time positions, to the number of faculty members in the School who have earned University-wide awards for excellence in teaching.
We are seeking candidates with a passion for teaching and a strong research agenda to join the faculty in a full-time tenure-track position in Mechanical Engineering at the Assistant Professor level starting Fall of 2025. The position is also available for candidates who can start in the Spring of 2025. Although candidates with expertise in all areas of Mechanical Engineering will be considered, those whose teaching and research interests in robotics and mechatronics are highly encouraged to apply.
About the School:
The School of Computing and Engineering became the ninth school at Quinnipiac University on July 1, 2016. The school offers BS and BA degrees in computer science; BS degrees in civil, industrial, mechanical and software engineering; and MS degrees in Computer Science and cybersecurity. All BS degrees are ABET accredited. Housed in the renovated Communications, Computing, and Engineering building, the school features newly constructed and outfitted laboratories and classrooms. Dedicated to providing the best possible learning experience for our students, the school focuses on high-quality instruction, and offers hands-on training, applied learning opportunities and meaningful student-faculty relationships.

Responsibilities:
Teaching courses in several areas and at all levels of mechanical engineering
Guiding, advising, and mentoring students
Establishment of a scholarship agenda. Examples of scholarship can include a variety of conference papers, journal articles, grant writings, and student-mentored research
Engagement in university and community service appropriate to interests
Education Requirements:
A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field, is required before the start of the position
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate and effectively communicate with faculty, staff, and students
Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field
Commitment to contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community
Preference will be given to applicants with interest and abilities to teach courses in robotics and mechatronics, along with other Mechanical Engineering courses
