The Senior Web Manager is responsible for building, growing, and maintaining a portfolio of websites for the President and the President’s Office at Georgetown University. They will write, edit, and publish content, and they will be responsible for the design, layout, organization, navigation, and overall website architecture on this university-wide website and its corresponding websites. The incumbent will guide collaborative work to generate and integrate narrative text, stories, videos, images, and other elements into webpages using sophisticated and advanced approaches. They will also manage an archive of videos, photographs, graphics, and other content associated with presidential communications. Reporting to the Director of Presidential Communications and Community Engagement, additional duties include, but are not limited to:

Write, create, edit, and publish content for Office of the President websites, including the President’s website and websites for special initiatives.

Design website architecture and page layout for maximum engagement.

Generate website content from narrative text, stories, videos, images, and other elements.

Provide advice and counsel to senior leaders looking to promote key university initiatives online.

Coordinate the approval and dissemination of content through key university channels.

Manage archive of content associated with presidential communications.

Coordinate the approval and dissemination of content through various channels associated with the President’s Office.

Align website strategies and digital content with the broader approaches employed in the President’s Office and the broader University.

Collaborate with project leaders to design, build, write, and maintain websites related to special initiatives, working with colleagues within and beyond the President’s Office.

​Requirements and Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

4-6 of relevant professional experience

A combination of strong writing and communications skills and technical knowledge of website design and management

Demonstrated understanding of website architecture, content strategy, accessibility guidelines, current best practices, and web content management systems

Experience in WordPress is strongly preferred

Interest in higher education and communications trends and best practices is suggested.
