GENERAL INFORMATION
Rank: Post-Doctoral Collaborative Piano, full-time, professional staff, benefits-eligible, 9-month staff appointment.
Start Date: Fall October 1, 2024
The Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts School of Music at the University of Oklahoma seeks applicants for a full-time, 40-hour-per-week Post-Doctoral Collaborative Pianist position. We seek candidates of exceptional promise who specialize as professional collaborative pianists.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
· Rehearse with undergraduate and graduate students
· Perform degree recitals
· Collaborate with faculty and guest artists
· Participate in other School of Music performances, including studio classes, competitions, juries, and other events that fall within the scope of this position
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Completed MM degree in piano performance or collaborative piano
· Artistic excellence demonstrated through collaborative performances
· Ability to sight-read and quickly learn repertoire
· Evidence of national-level performances
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· DMA degree in piano performance, or collaborative piano, or commiserate professional experience
· Fluency in keyboard skills in multiple genres of music, including new music
· Evidence of effective organization and time management skills
· Commitment to contributing to the artistic vitality of the academic community within the School of Music and across the University through creative activities and research
