Job Description

Position Summary
The Raymond A. Mason School of Business Director of Development for Marketing and Finance Programs is responsible for securing private support for the Marketing and Finance program. The incumbent will manage a major gifts program including identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors to the Mason School. They will also serve as the staff liaison to the Boehly Center for Excellence in Finance and the primary fundraising liaison for the Boehly Center’s annual signature event, and will oversee the Boehly Center Advisory Board.

The Director of Development for Marketing and Finance will work with the Boehly Center Director to plan two annual board meetings. They will create a pipeline into the Boehly Center Advisory Board and eventually from the BCAB to the BSF Board. They will work with the BCAB, the WSP Advisory Board, and the Boehly Center Director to ensure that the signature event has sustainable funding and is recognized as a world-class event in the finance community. They will work with the Associate Director to plan annual regional events to engage finance and marketing alumni. They will act as a liaison between the Boehly Center and the BSF on developing a sustainable Boehly Center Budget while balancing the needs of the BSF.

In addition, the Director of Development for Marketing and Finance programs will manage the alumni volunteers, prepare proposals for prospects and donors, and will also work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Alumni Engagement and partnership of Mason School alumni.

Conditions of Employment
Extensive travel in and out of the state; evening and weekend work is required.
This is a restricted position, subject to the continued availability of funding.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or comparable education/experience.
Experience in fundraising with a well-developed vision and philosophy for fundraising in higher education.
Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
Strong organizational skills, including a commitment to and track record with both tactical and detailed fundraising planning.
The ability to work collegially and collaboratively in a team setting while being highly autonomous and traveling as required.
Knowledge of and familiarity with the complexities of a college setting.
Administrative skill set to include: excel, word, and other basic tools for managing advance work necessary for travel.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduate degree desired, MBA or accounting strongly preferred.
Experience in using Advance database.
Significant experience in higher education development settings.
Familiarity with the Finance Industry preferred.
