The Associate Registrar will provide technical leadership and management to support the enhancement, development, maintenance, and implementation of technology solutions to the University’s mission. This includes supervision and employee development, university project support, and operational support for data integrity and operational efficiencies. The successful incumbent must exhibit a high level of creative problem-solving ability, resourcefulness, and the competence needed to conduct business process evaluations, develop short- and long-term goals, make recommendations, and execute projects to improve processes and technologies. The incumbent will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders such as Information Technology Services, administrative staff, faculty, and third-party vendors. The incumbent will be critical in developing a comprehensive Registrar’s Office to support the University.

Job Function:

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or in lieu of Bachelor's degree an Associate's degree plus an additional two years of IT/technical experience.

Minimum Experience:

At least four years of experience in business operations with a track record of increasing experience and responsibilities.

Preferred Experience:

Strong knowledge of enterprise reporting tools; experience in troubleshooting applications and processes; supervisory experience; experience with Ellucian products, Argos, and ticketing system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operations: Serve as the technical expert for core student information system applications and related technologies, including, but not limited to, Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, and other products related to registrar responsibilities that interface with the student module. This includes but is not limited to the accuracy of required data transmissions and reporting, ad hoc reporting requests, analysis of operations and business processes, troubleshooting, problem resolution, and other duties as assigned.
  • Projects: Provide functional and technical expertise during the planning and implementation of new systems. In addition to the technical execution of initiatives, this position ensures community preparedness by assisting with documentation development, testing, training, presentations, communications, etc.
  • Planning, Leadership, Staff Development: Participate in the planning, designing, and implementation of innovative technical solutions to further the service mission of the Office of the Registrar; coordinate and perform enhancements and upgrades of critical systems as needed. Collaborate and enhance relationships across the campus. Establish metrics to support continuous improvement. Provide employees with timely and challenging professional development opportunities for improving their skills and increasing their office and institutional effectiveness to maintain the highest quality of services for our constituents. Ensure all staff are appropriately trained.
  • Compliance: Registrar Data Steward. Analysis and processes to ensure federal, state, and university compliance and data integrity and security. Know and understand FERPA and other data security standards. Oversee and approve all sensitive data requests.
  • System Implementation, upgrade, training, and testing: Continually assess the unit's business practices to ensure the security and accuracy of the student database, streamline processes, and improve the delivery of services by providing a cooperative, service-supported approach to the University community. This includes but is not limited to, business process review, documentation and training, communications and presentations, etc.
