Responsibilities
Provide administrative support, often highly complex and of an advanced nature, to the passionate and diverse Cell Cycle & Cancer Biology Research Program. Resolve a variety of questions and problems independently. Perform duties, including but not limited to:
- Serving as the primary contact for the research program, receiving and responding to calls, emails and other correspondence
- Preparing grant documents and online submission procedures and progress reports for grants
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets; responsible for maintaining budgetary records and expenditures and other support items for federal grant applications
- Editing scientific documents for grammar flow and clarity; ensuring compliance with federal grant submission requirements
- Updating and managing bio sketches/CV’s
- Corresponding by email and zoom
- Maintaining department supplies, including printer supplies
- Initiating online requisitions, expense reports and refunds
- Managing department mail and FedEx shipments
- Managing onsite room reservations and itineraries for guest speakers
- Scheduling various appointments
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and 2 years of administrative support-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be proficient with a wide range of administrative processes, practices and procedures, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Drop Box, Zoom, copiers, printers, fax, phone, business math, and bookkeeping. Must demonstrate good written and verbal communication and customer service skills, high attention to detail, dependability, and willingness to learn. The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work independently, and demonstrate professionalism with diverse personalities and cultures are essential.
