Responsibilities
The Cleuren Lab is seeking a highly motivated candidate with a background in molecular and computational biology to fill a Senior Technical Specialist position. The lab is based in the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program and uses complex mouse genetics and state-of-the-art molecular approaches to study the mechanisms underlying endothelial cell (dys)function in relation to pathology.
The person hired into this position will be expected to perform experimental procedures including the preparation of samples for high-throughput sequencing, implement new molecular techniques, analyze and interpret sequencing data, prepare manuscripts and help writing grant applications. It is expected that the candidate will help mentoring students/guiding lab members, and oversee research projects in the lab.
Qualifications
The candidate must have at least a Bachelor’s degree typically in one of the biological sciences, with at least 8 years of hands-on research experience. The position requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally. This position requires a self-driven individual who has a demonstrated ability for critical thinking and problem-solving; they must be able to work independently but also as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
