A tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level is available in the Department of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology. A Ph.D. in Metallurgical Engineering or a closely related discipline is required at the time of appointment. The preferred start date is August 2024, however a start date of January 2025 may be considered.
The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate (B.S. Metallurgical Engineering) and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering and Science) courses in advanced and critical materials and their processing and characterization. The research expectations for this position are high. The candidate is expected to sustain a strong externally sponsored research program in the area of advanced and critical materials.
