Job Summary

The Patron Services Coordinator will coordinate box office and front-of-house operations for the Maxwell Theatre. They will supervise front-of-house student staff and lead student staff teams dedicated to marketing, data, and front-of-house operations. This position will assist with the business operations of the Maxwell Theatre, primarily related to box office and rentals. This position will also provide limited assistance with marketing and event booking.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

OPERATIONS: Coordinate front-of-house operations. Ensure the safety and comfort of both students and the public while attending events. Ensure that each event has proper staff coverage.
Advance front-of-house needs for events as required. Develop a volunteer usher corps.

BOX OFFICE: Cover night performances with assistance from student staff and Director. Coordinate Box Office operations including programming events, daily deposits, event closeouts, and payments due to presenters. Ensure box office night of performance is covered for ticketed events.

MANAGE: Hire, train, supervise, schedule, and manage performance of student front-of-house/box office staff for the Maxwell Theatre. Work with student staff to develop and maintain a robust training program. Lead small teams of students in working groups to include marketing, data collection, events, and operations, and data.

COMMUNICATION: Communicate effectively with clients, patrons, students, Maxwell Theatre student staff, and professional staff ensuring coordination between all parties to ensure successful events.

INVOICES: Prepare and manage rental contracts-and invoices.

THEATRE BOOKING: Serve ex-officio on the Maxwell Theatre Advisory Committee and provide limited assistance to the Director for booking events for the Maxwell Theatre Lyceum Series.

OTHER DUTIES: Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in a multi-use venue involving audiences.
Box office management experience.
Front of House management experience.
Experience in a higher education setting.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and related software
Knowledge of events and event management
Understanding of safety issues related to public events and crowd control
Basic understanding of ticket software systems and box office functions


SKILLS
Excellent customer service skills

ABILITIES
Ability to communicate with all people with a emphasis on students
Ability to quickly pick up new software packages, including ticket selling software.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F

Pay Band: B2

Salary: Minimum: $15.77/hour- Midpoint: $18.89/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
