The voice area is part of the Department of Performance Studies, and is responsible for voice study and voice-related courses for all non-keyboard majors. Our curriculum is designed to help students to be strong ensemble singers in service of our choral mission, as well as to help them develop their individual gifts as soloists.

The Department of Performance Studies of Westminster Choir College of Rider University seeks an adjunct instructor of voice for the Fall 2024 semester beginning September 4, 2024. This position is to teach applied voice lessons to undergraduate and graduate students. The position includes a weekly studio class (on either Monday or Wednesday afternoon) and listening to end-of-semester voice juries.

Position Requirements

Master’s degree in voice performance or voice pedagogy by September of 2024 and demonstrated professional performance experience as well as successful teaching experience of undergraduate and graduate students in a college or university setting.  Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and two years of demonstrated performance experience will also be considered.

Demonstrated exemplary musicianship, innovative pedagogical skills, and evidence of ongoing performance or scholarship are required.  Candidates with experience working and teaching in culturally diverse environments are welcomed.
