Job Summary
Reviews public water system documents, reports, and data to determine compliance with Texas Commission on Water Quality (TCEQ) rules and regulations; provides technical assistance to internal and external customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Reconciles public water systems documentation related to engineering report requirements and/or removal of reduced lead and copper sampling; runs water quality reports.
Researches rules and regulations, source water assessment and protection files, and online wells and systems mapping tools; operates map viewers.
Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
Performs technical reviews of plan and specification submittals.
Prepares formal correspondence plan reviews.
Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, environmental science, public utilities, or related field, with two (2) years of full-time experience performing engineering or technical reviews of public water systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in the specified fields, Engineer in Training or Professional Engineer.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Solid working knowledge of TCEQ and Environmental Protection Agency rules, regulations and procedures related to publicly owned treatment works and pretreatment programs.
Knowledge with Microsoft Office.
Skill in reviewing and analyzing records.
Ability determining proper courses of action.
Ability performing basic data entry skills.
Skill with managing time and assignments to meet deadlines.
Communicating effectively with internal and external customers.
Use of proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
