Job Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Department of Science at Minot State University is currently seeking a full-time non-tenure-track faculty member to serve as an instructor for 100-level chemistry labs starting in the fall of 2024. The candidate will work with tenure-track faculty who teach 100-level chemistry courses to ensure students get practical experiences that enhance topics covered in lectures. The candidate will also be expected to oversee the adjoining chemical stockroom and supervise student workers in the chemical stockroom. The ideal candidate will also possess the ability to teach polymer chemistry courses in the future, based on the needs of the program. This position will be entirely in-person; applicants seeking a remote position will not be considered.

Minimum Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, with a background in polymer chemistry.

At least two years experience teaching undergraduate chemistry labs for both science majors and non-majors at a primarily undergraduate institution, including preparing all materials and solutions needed for each lab.

Preferred Qualifications:

Background that contains industry experience at the doctoral level is preferred.
