Job Description

Job Summary
Serves as primary administrative contact for students and faculty leaders participating in education abroad programs. Manages a variety of international program models focusing on program quality and addressing risk management. Develops and conducts informational sessions and recruitment events to promote access to education and experiential learning abroad.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Identifies new program elements in development of international education program opportunities
2. Collaborates with faculty and departments in preparing budgets, salaries and compensation, and itineraries
3. Communicates program policies, procedures and deadlines to faculty
4. Coordinates program logistics and fiscal management with faculty, travel agents, vendors and other external parties
5. Develops recruitment plans in collaboration with faculty to promote programs
6. Provides faculty trainings and information sessions on fiscal program operations procedures and risk management procedures
7. Assists students in identifying and selecting programs, responds to inquiries and provides information about application process and requirements
8. Manages risk-based preparation of students on education programs
9. Serves as Site Manager, functioning as point-of-contact and facilitator for teaching-faculty institutional¿ program model

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
Two (2) years of related work experience

Multilingual

Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field


Preferred Experience
Experience participating in or leading an international program
Program planning and/or project management experience
Experience in a higher education setting preferred

KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of country-specific rules and regulations
Knowledge of essential elements of pre-departure and reentry programming for students
Knowledge of general grade and credit conversion practices, financial aid regulations, and federal regulations impacting students
Knowledge of passport and visa requirements and processes
Knowledge of international agreement standards and educational contexts around the world
Knowledge of technology, social media, and data management techniques related to study abroad
Knowledge of theories and research of intercultural adjustment and college student advising
Knowledge of higher education trends in education abroad
Knowledge of KSU, BOR State of Georgia and international risk management, accounting, procurement, and travel policies

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, technology, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
