Position Summary:
This position includes the instruction of high school students from grades 10-12 in the areas of Health Sciences.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Health Science Instructor's responsibilities include the following:
Coordination of student clinical experiences, classroom and lab instruction, student advisement, supervision of students, serve on campus committees, program planning, student evaluation, student recruitment, professional development, classroom and lab instruction, development of curriculum, maintenance of classroom records, and communication with representatives in the field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Healthcare Industry
Knowledge of Career and Tech Education
Strong interpersonal skills with diverse populations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong math skills
Must enjoy working with and have the ability to relate to high school aged students
Ability to work in a team
Minimum Requirements:
LPN; Associate Degree; hold a current unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas; have a minimum of two (2) years' experience with at least one (1) year in long-term care within the past five (5) years; and have an ability to become a high school certified technical instructor.
Preferred Qualifications:
RN; Bachelor Degree; hold a current unencumbered license to practice in Arkansas; have three (3) years of experience with at least one (1) year in long-term care within the past five (5) years; hold an Arkansas Teacher License in Health Science; and have one (1) or more years of teaching experience.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
This position is part of the Arkansas Tech Career Center for the Danville Satellite located at the Danville High School.
Must be able to stand for long periods and lift 25 pounds occasionally.
