General Responsibilities
The Health, Science, and Technology Division is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered full-time faculty member to join the Cyber Technology department to teach courses in the following areas: cybersecurity, cloud operations security, Cisco, and cyber forensics.

These courses facilitate learning through a combination of class lectures, discussions, activities and lab work. Experience with education in an active learning and collaborative environment is desired. The individual hired for this position will also need to design, develop and assess course content within the curriculum area, with necessary training required to stay current.

This position serves as part of an interdisciplinary team of faculty teaching programming, security, networking, digital forensics, and cloud security operations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, coordinating courses and adjunct faculty, developing/updating curriculum, serving on committees, performing academic advising and mentoring. Experience with cloud computing (AWS preferred) or artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) is desired but not necessary for applying.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to develop and deliver additional course materials at the associate degree level as needed to keep pace with the fast-growing nature of technology. The successful candidate will support HCC’s continued designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD) by
delivering courses that maintain CAE training standards,
participating in CAE professional meetings, conferences and community events,
assisting with the production of regular reports and the re-designation package, and
serving as the Alternate Point of Contact for the CAE Program Management Office.

The teaching load is 30 credits combined for the fall and spring semester and 6 credits during the summer session. Release time is available for course coordination. In addition, faculty are expected to maintain at least five (5) office hours per week while class is in session and accept other responsibilities as described below.

Teach cybersecurity, cloud operations and security, Cisco, and/or cyber forensics courses during the day and/or evening in multiple modalities including face-to-face, scheduled remote, and flexible online
Teach dual-enrollment class at off-site campus
Develop and deliver course materials using the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), including attending training for new LMS updates
Participate in departmental and college committees
Work with HCC’s partners and/or corporate institutions
Attend in-person department and division meetings
Serve as an academic advisor and mentor
Coordinate degree and/or certificate program(s) along with hiring and supporting adjunct faculty
Manage course scheduling and curriculum development
Serve as the CAE alternate point of contact
Participate in commencement ceremonies and other significant institutional events
Pursue teaching improvement and professional development
Other duties as assigned

Bachelor’s degree cybersecurity or a related field; or a bachelor’s degree and a career certificate in cybersecurity or related field
A minimum of one year of work experience in cybersecurity, network management, cloud operations/security, or a related field
A minimum of one year of college level teaching and learning methods/pedagogy
Excellent written and oral communications skills
Willingness to complete additional training or certifications is required
Knowledge of information assurance, cybersecurity, network management, and/or cloud operations and security or related fields
Availability to teach dual enrolled class(es), both on-site and off-site campus
Ability to work independently and in a team to achieve project goals
Current industry certification in one or more of the following: CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA PenTest+, CompTIA CySA+, ECC C|EH, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions Architect (associate), CCST Networking, and/or similar

Preferred
Master’s degree in cybersecurity or related field
A minimum of three-year of experience in college-level teaching in Cybersecurity, Network Administration, Cisco, Cyber Forensics, or a related field
Experience working as a CAE POC or alternate POC is a plus
Knowledge of Cloud, AWS, Azure, Linux, Firewalls, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems, Penetration Testing, Cryptography or Vulnerability Assessment are strongly desired
Professional certifications from CompTIA, ISC2, Cisco, SANS/GIAC, ECC Council, ISACA or similar are desired
