Our Grounds Maintenance and Landscape Department provides a safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing exterior environment for the students, faculty, and staff of Kansas State University. The main campus of K-State consists of 250 acres of intensely landscaped area. The Grounds Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining and installing all turfgrass, shrubs, trees, and annual flower beds on campus.

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma.
Knowledge of the general practices applied in the care and safe operation of a wide variety of light to medium maintenance equipment.
Knowledge of standard safety practices.
Ability to operate a wide variety of lighter and heavy equipment.
Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of grounds, tree, and shrub care.
Six months of experience in equipment operation. Some positions may require the attainment of a commercial driver’s license.
Basic leadership skills.
Other Requirements:

Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
