Coastal Carolina University seeks applications for the position of Administrative Assistant in the Wall College of Business.



Works indoors in a private office; must be able to work at a computer workstation and operate standard office equipment (computer, printer, copier, scanner, telephone) for most of the workday; needs to move in and around the office suite and building to interact with other staff, collect supplies, deliver mail, make copies, etc. occasionally throughout the workday; must be able to occasionally transport boxes of supplies weighing up to 50 lbs. around the building and around campus utilizing carts or dollies; may occasionally be asked to drive a University golf cart on campus; must be able to regularly communicate verbally and in writing to students, faculty, staff, and community members; must be able to maneuver around campus to assist with and participate in various programmatic and college-specific events (7-10 times/year), some of which take place outside of normal working hours and some of which may take place off-campus.

Administrative Assistant (AA75/ 61122863), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 04. Salary range: $31,561.00 (minimum) - $44,977.00 (midpoint). Normal work hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.

Duties
Provides administrative support to the Wall College Dean’s office, with items including (but not limited to) mass mailings, student academic paperwork processing, semester reports, and general office duties. Serves as backup administrative support when the college’s primary admin is unavailable.
Provides administrative support to Wall College student programs and their directors with items including (but not limited to) processing travel paperwork, assisting with board meetings, coordinating speakers/guests, and assisting with class scheduling.
Coordinates college-level and student program event planning, utilizing on- and off-campus resources and vendors.
Manages Wall College supply inventory. Reviews supply stock and places orders to replenish.
Manages student employment processes for the Wall College.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: A high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. A bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 5 years of administrative support experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Command of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook) and the ability to learn new technologies; ability to work with students, faculty, and the public exercising discretion and good judgment in applying departmental and program policy and procedures; the ability to self-start and work independently in implementing administrative procedures; efficient academic file management and record-keeping accuracy; effective oral and written communication skills; time management skills and ability to meet deadlines; ability to work with and keep a running budget.
