Job Description

Summary

Intern will learn standard techniques in molecular biology such as DNA extraction, PCR amplification, Gel Electrophoresis, Sanger DNA sequencing, Western Blot analysis Intern will also learn to use both standard microCT and phase contrast microCT and will learn to analyze data acquired through both imaging modalities.

Job Purpose

Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.

Job Duties

  • Completes Phase Contrast microCT training in the OiVM Core at BCM.
  • Receives in person training on making stock solutions and buffers.
  • Attends weekly lab meetings.
  • Meets three times a week with supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
