Duties
The Website Administrator is responsible for the overall management and maintenance of the University website (athens.edu) and any other related site (tvotfc.org, athensforever.org, etc.), adhering to university brand standards and ensuring the sites are accessible and responsive. The Administrator will be responsible for all aspects of content, data, structures, concepts, and visuals and will apply usability and analytical skills to assess web effectiveness, timeliness, and accessibility. This team member will also manage the web server and hosting platforms, while analyzing and mitigating security risks. The Website Administrator must acknowledge and assume the responsibility that comes with the role of managing the most visible form of digital communication for the institution and develop systems to ensure overall branding and public perception are enhanced.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Build, test, and publish aesthetic, functional, and user-friendly webpages and websites for the University and associated organizations, projects, and programs.
• Proactively review and update pages as needed, ensuring website accuracy.
• Implement website security and data protection measures; ensure security threats are mitigated using all available tools and resources.
• Maintain, update, and optimize web servers, site theme, and hosting platforms, along with any other technical aspects of the website.
• Monitor and analyze site performance.
• Manage incoming web requests, reviewing with relevant parties to determine acceptability and updating as needed.
• Review and analyze website traffic for SEO; conduct keyword research and determine best methods to improve search engine rankings and increase conversions.
• Create and submit sitemap for each website to ensure all pages are indexed by search engines.
• Coordinate with team members to produce new web content such as articles, images, videos, testimonials, and other media that add value to site visitors’ experiences.
• Create and maintain custom forms, testing regularly and compiling user submissions for record-keeping purposes.
• Maintain a high standard of usability for all users, including accessibility for the visually impaired or those with limited motor coordination.
• Perform regularly (at least monthly) accessibility audits; log and maintain findings for record-keeping.
• Coordinate with external support vendors, as needed.
• Manage campus digital signage, updating regularly to promote campus events and news.
• Assist with photography and graphic design for university media, including department logos, publications, and emails, as needed.
• Contribute to the overall success of the University by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Associate Degree (or equivalent college coursework) from an accredited college in computer science, marketing, information technology, or a related field
• Minimum of two-year’s experience in internet development, website design, HTML, marketing, communications, technology, or publications with an emphasis on using technology and writing; or an equivalent combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities to perform the duties of this position
• Experience developing and implementing webpages, particularly those with interactive and multimedia components
• Ability to communicate technical concepts in plain language and collaborate with staff whose expertise lies in other areas
• Working knowledge of WordPress, PHP, HTML, Java, Javascript, Dream Weaver, as well as multimedia development tools and applications, is essential
• Strong knowledge of web design, development, and implementation
• Ability to evaluate, install, and use software programs for writing, editing, and compiling scripts
• Ability to create, maintain, and update internal and external webpages, sites, and online forms
• Knowledge of WordPress and HTML
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite software, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Acrobat Professional
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and basic use of office equipment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; teamwork mentality
• Ability to operate computer equipment and other associated equipment, such as a scanner, digital and standard camera, and other computer-related equipment
• Ability to work with a variety of constituents, including outside vendors
• Ability to oversee and manage numerous projects and meet strict deadlines
• Excellent proofreader and careful attention to detail
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule as needed
