DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Selects and deselects information resources appropriate to meet curricular and research needs in consultation with College of Engineering and Science faculty.

Provides research consultation and subject-specific information services to students and faculty in the College of Engineering and Science. Also provides general information services to all Library users.

Designs, develops, and delivers course-related instruction in-person or virtually.

Meets tenure requirements of research and scholarship as well as service to the University, the Library, and the profession.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.

Undergraduate degree or relevant experience in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Molecular Science or Nanotechnology.

At least one to two years of relevant work experience in an academic or research library.

Demonstrated experience in public services, providing user-centered information services and/or instruction in an academic or research library.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team within a culturally diverse user community of students, faculty and staff.

Effective organizational and time management skills in order to perform tasks and to meet deadlines.

Effective oral and written communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Molecular Science or Nanotechnology.

More than two years of relevant work experience in an academic or research library.

Experience developing and delivering course-related instruction in both in-person and virtual environments.

ABOUT PRESCOTT MEMORIAL LIBRARY: Prescott Memorial Library provides a wide variety of physical and digital information resources and services. Centrally located on campus, the Library occupies nine floors of Wyly Tower which is connected to its original three story building. Collections total 3.9 million items, including 2,000 serials and 40,000 maps. A Regional Federal Depository Library, Prescott Memorial Library is also a historical depository for Louisiana state documents. Special Collections, Manuscripts, and Archives on the fourth floor preserves rare books, manuscripts, maps and other materials, including collections documenting the history of Louisiana Tech University and the region.
