Job Description

Summary

The Pryor Innovation Laboratory is looking for one technician to assist in constructing and testing a coagulation measurement device. The project will last between eight to ten weeks and will involve prototype construction, design troubleshooting, and confirmation of initial design metrics. This project will involve exposure to collaborators from several departments at Texas Children's Hospital including: General Surgery, Critical Care Medicine, and Transfusion Medicine, as well as, the Texas A&M University Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering.
Aide/Intern will be encouraged to attend surgery grand rounds and other learning opportunities as identified by the PI.

Job Purpose

Provides temporary administrative or laboratory support to a department while gaining practical work experience.

Job Duties

  • Assists in the collection, compilation and analysis of data.
  • Conducts literature searches and summarize information as requested by the PI.
  • Documents and interprets results of device development to report to principal investigator.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
