Develop and oversee coaching, training, and conditioning of the cross country and distance event areas.

Ball State University welcomes applications for an Assistant Cross Country Track and Field Coach for Women.

Job Function:

Develop and oversee coaching, training, and conditioning of the cross country and distance event areas.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor’s degree by date of employment from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

Master's degree.

Minimum Experience:

At least one year of collegiate coaching experience.

Preferred Experience:

At least two years of collegiate coaching experience in cross country and distance events.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all training and physical development within the practice environment as it relates to cross country/distance student-athletes throughout the cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field seasons.
  • Help coordinate strength and conditioning sessions in conjunction with the full-time strength and conditioning coach, as it relates to cross country/distance student-athletes throughout the cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field seasons.
  • Identify academic and athletic talent to recruit as it relates to cross country/distance student-athletes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Show commitment to and responsibility for adherence to all rules and regulations of Ball State University, the Mid-American Conference and the NCAA; pass the NCAA certification examination on an annual basis.
  • Support the management of team travel arrangements, including transportation, lodging, and meal planning, in compliance with university policies and budget constraints.
  • Execute all administrative duties as assigned by the head coach throughout the cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field seasons.
  • Work within budget parameters, as it relates to cross country/distance student-athletes, as set by the head coach throughout the cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field seasons.
