The Katherine Reese Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences forms the heart of the liberal arts mission of Augusta University. The Department of Social Sciences includes over 350 students across six undergraduate degrees and two graduate degrees. The department's undergraduate degrees are in Criminal Justice; Health, Society, and Policy; Nonprofit Leadership and Administration; Political Science; Social Work; and Sociology. The program's two graduate degrees are a Master of Arts in Intelligence and Security Studies and a NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program.

Job Summary

Administrative Assistant 1 will directly support the Department of Social Sciences Executive Suite and the Masters of Public Administration Program.

Responsibilities

The duties include, but are not limited to:

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Assist the Department of Social Sciences with daily task support, unit organization, and managing and disturbing information from within the office. Prepare and submit all necessary documentation. Field incoming calls, sending meetings, and greeting guests. Work with other office personnel to maintain office supply inventories and ensure office areas are organized appropriately. Support the department's website and promote the work for the department's programs and the Center of Social Sciences Research by using social media and other tools. Coordinate job searches.

RECRUITMENT: Provide promotional and recruitment support for the director of the Master of Arts in Intelligence and Securities program.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in administrative support positionsORHigh School diploma /GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and six years progressively responsible experience in administrative support positions

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with progressively responsible experience in administrative support; 3-4 years previous experience in an academic or higher education setting; proficiency with Banner.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/ M-F

Pay Grade: 10

Salary: Minimum $15.00/hour - Midpoint $17.03/hour

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
