Job Function:

Plan, maintain, and grow the Ball State County Ambassador Program to all 92 Indiana counties; support and represent the work of Industry Engagement with key stakeholders; support event planning, supervise student employee(s), evaluate programs and services. Some evenings required based on programming needs. Some travel required.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

Preferred Education:

Master's degree

Minimum Experience:

Three years of professional work experience; knowledge of program development and assessment.

Preferred Experience:

Leadership, collaboration, public speaking, program planning, managing volunteer programs; knowledge of industry engagement, experience with career development and development of college students, managing social media accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and manage the Ball State County Ambassador Program in coordination with Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement team.
  • Develop relationships with Indiana county and municipal leaders related to the promotion and management of the County Ambassador Program; this may include travel.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for County Ambassador placement, reporting, and data tracking.
  • Prospect for new County Ambassador opportunities using existing state and university relationships and creating new relationships through cold calling and public presentations.
  • Plan and implement County Ambassador trainings for ambassadors.
  • Plan and deliver County Ambassador information sessions for partners and prospective partners.
  • Manage and regularly post on the Industry Engagement LinkedIn page and other social media.
  • Manage the Industry Engagement blog.
  • Support event planning for Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement.
  • Represent Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement at on- and off-campus visits with key stakeholders.
  • Oversee peer-to-peer StayingIN campaign.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled meetings with Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement staff to manage services, calendars, policies, and procedures and other administrative details required by the office.
  • Represent Governmental Relations and Industry Engagement on appropriate university committees as assigned.
  • Assign and review work, orient and train student employee(s), and make recommendations in all areas related to supervision, including but not limited to interviewing and selection, compensation, and training and career development.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
