Job Summary

Responsible for assisting the Physical Security Manager with the maintenance and operation of the Access Control and Physical Security Systems. Assist the Physical Security Manager to provide management and oversight of the processes for card access controls and other physical security devices monitored by the division; that includes, but is not limited to, daily maintenance, periodic upgrades, and service response to those systems. Coordinates with and supports other University departments as needed for maintenance and repairs of physical security systems. Serves as the assistant administrative supervisor over activities and issues relating to the University's card access system, Division computer database systems, data records, and other physical security applications. Provide administrative support as directed by the Physical Security Manager, Major, Police Administration, and/or the Director/Chief of Police.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:

TROUBLESHOOTING: Troubleshoot/repair door access, surveillance, badge hardware. Troubleshoot/repair software programs used to control badging and access

TECHNICAL CONSULTING: Provide consultation, recommendation, and quotes for new hardware/software implementation.

RISK MANAGEMENT: Review and make recommendations on policies and procedures related to physical security

ASSISTANCE: Provide assistance to the JagCard office, when needed, in granting/revoking customer access.

OTHER DUTIES: Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one year of experience with applications related to physical security measures including, but not limited to, access control, video cameras, and common computer-related applications.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. Experience installing and maintaining access control systems, video cameras, computer hardware, and common computer-related applications. Knowledge of standard police practices and techniques is highly desirable.

Ability to maintain computer systems relating to access and security controls, digital video systems, web-based, and other related computer applications.

Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Monday-Friday

Pay Grade: 15

Salary: $18.71/ hourly- $21.15/ hourly

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
