50% - Conduct research pertinent to funded projects. Maintain, design, build, and operate radar hardware focusing on RF hardware development, antenna structures, power supplies, and system integration. Such activities include computer aided design and simulation, hardware layout, and debugging.

10% - Participate and support field deployment activities including system installation, radar operation, hardware debugging, and data processing.

10% - Service: Interact with public, government, and industry, participate in professional scientific organizations, serve on committees of scientific organizations, and review manuscripts for journals or other publishers, critically review scientific proposals for funding agencies.

15% - Disseminate research in the form of publications in peer-reviewed, scientific and scholarly journals of high standing in the specific research field; by presentations at international, national, regional and state meetings; and publishing in professional journals and books. This varies with authorship and can mean entire publication/presentation if sole/primary author, to contributing specific sections of publications/presentations with secondary authorship. Supervision of student authored papers as necessary.

15% - Generate and submit proposals to generate external funding support.



Position Requirements

1. Willingness and capability to participate in field deployments (both airborne and in-situ) to polar regions for durations up to 2 months.

Required Qualifications

Ph.D. in EE or related field.
Five years of postdoctoral work
Proven experience in computer aided design tools relevant to RF hardware design, as evidenced in application materials.
Recent publications in referred journals, book chapters, or other outlets, as evidenced in application materials.
Five or more years of experience with microwave, radio frequency, or high-speed digital system printed board design and layout.

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in polar related research, remote sensing theory and techniques, as evidenced in application materials.
Demonstrated ability of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
