Job Function:

Monitor and maintain transportation service station and wash bay operation; supervise work of student personnel. Needs to work a schedule of 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

Minimum Education:

High School diploma or GED.

Preferred Education:

Training or education beyond high school.

Minimum Experience:

Over one through three years of work experience; must possess and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License and be insurable under the university’s auto fleet policy.

Preferred Experience:

Supervisory experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for the garage fueling station and function; order gas/fuel for garage tanks; fuel all university vehicles, check engine fluids, and record on fuel logs appropriately.
Direct and perform the work in the wash bay; wash interior and exterior of cars, trucks, buses, and other university equipment; evaluate need for and apply wax as necessary.
Assist screening and interviewing student employees; schedule and train student employees.
Schedule and/or release rental fleet vehicles as necessary; provide customer pick-up and phone coverage in early mornings.
Perform fleet vehicle inspections upon their return to motor pool; report any damage or repairs needed.
Maintain correct inventory of supplies for wash bay; inventory and order supplies as necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work area; evaluate wash bay equipment and make recommendations for replacement equipment.
Assist Transportation Office as needed; assist garage personnel as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
