Job Description

Summary

The Dan L Duncan Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) provides a learning environment at Baylor College of Medicine that integrates data from diverse domains including the electronic medical record, geospatial and social information and next generation technologies to support research, development and implementation of new approaches to patient care. The ICTR is currently seeking a Student Intern/Aide to assist with data management and statistics support.

Job Duties

Learn how to use statistical software packages to evaluate evidence that genetic factors are influencing risk for tumor development
Learn about statistical methods
Develop skills in use of R and Linux computing environment
Learn about the impact of genetic factors on families with high risk for cancer development.
Learn about use of Linux

Minimum Qualifications

Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of computing methods with limited experience.
Some knowledge of high school biology.
Training through geometry in mathematical methods.
