Research Technician I - Cancer Epigenetics
Job Description
Summary
A Research Technician position is available in Anastas lab in the Department of Neurosurgery starting in May 2024. The technician will work within a multi-disciplinary research team working collaboratively to identify drivers of glioma initiation and progression with a long term goal of developing new therapies for pediatric brain tumors.
Job Duties
- Prepares and conducts laboratory research experiments.
- Collects, compiles, and analyzes data.
- Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigator.
- Selects, evaluates, and applies techniques used in routine research.
- Assists with the ordering of laboratory supplies and equipment.
- Performs cell culture and molecular analyses. Conductsstudies in pre-clinical mouse models of glioma and assistswith lab operations such as solution making and maintainslaboratory supply inventories.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Two years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- BS degree in basic science or related field
- Experience (or a desire to learn) with experimental procedures related to generating mouse models of glioma that includesbasic rodent handling, mouse survival surgeries, and conductingdrug treatment studies in mice is a plus.
