Summary

Part-time Laboratory Helper positions are available in Dr. Wu's lab located at Children’s Nutrition Research Center, Baylor College of Medicine. This position will provide critical support for the research focusing on the brain control of metabolic and neurological disorders that are based upon genetic mouse models. The lab is currently on the path to publish a series of manuscripts currently funded by NIH and USDA. The lab helper will have the great opportunity to contribute to these exciting projects.

Job Duties

  • Conducts mouse colony maintenance, that includesbreeding, genotyping, database management.
  • Keepsrecords in compliance with IACUC regulations.
  • Performstissue dissection, cryo-sectioning, immunostaining.
  • Keeps work surfaces clean and orderly.
  • Maintains glassware by cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and labeling.
  • Prepares lab stock solutions.
  • Ensures lab safety.
  • Assists with the ordering and inventory of lab supplies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.
